A few weeks ago in my Journalism & Creative Writing class we were told that we had to write poetry. Now, I hadn’t written a poem since I was in primary school so this was a frightening prospect, especially since it’s a workshop class so I would be reading it out to a few of my classmates in order for them to give feedback. Surprisingly I enjoyed the poetry classes more than I thought I would.
Firstly I want to apologise for my lack of posts this past week. The due dates for my second set of uni assignments have been fast approaching and when not doing uni work I’ve been hanging out with my boyfriend, friends and consuming too much alcohol. Gotta love that student life! I’m trying my hardest to not let my blog falter too much and I’ll definitely be back to my normal blogging routine next month.
Anyway, I thought that since Christmas is fast approaching – a month tomorrow is Christmas Eve!!! – I would compile a mini gift guide. I don’t know anyone who doesn’t love food, especially free food. I’ve searched the depths of the internet and found a few gifts that any health food junkie would love.
If you’re feeling rather generous towards the chocoholic in your life then this hamper is perfect! For £150 My Healthy Nibbles have put together a 22″ hand crafted woven hamper packed with loads of chocolate goodies from brands including Sweet Freedom, Ombar and Booja Booja. I think if someone gave me this I’d cry tears of joy! There are also other hampers to choose from including a vegan hamper and a general healthy snack one.
The penultimate Sourced Box of 2016 has arrived. I can’t quite believe how fast this year has gone. I can’t wrap my head around the range of new snacks I’ve tried over the past 11 months and most of it is all down to this beauty of a subscription.
Anyway, there will be time for snacking reflection next month. Let’s dive right into the November Sourced Box.
My first official box from The Vegan Kind arrived today and I am so happy that I decided to subscribe to this box. The November box has a good balance of interesting and simple but delicious products and I’m already excited for next months! Let’s take a peek at what was inside.
With less than a month to go it’s time to start thinking about what advent calendar to get this year. Long gone are the days of your only options being Cadbury’s or character based with the not-so-great-but-tastes-like-advent-calendar-chocolate. These days you can get an advent calendar for absolutely anything. From candles to make-up to whiskey (yep, that’s a real one), you’re bound to find one that takes your fancy.
If you’re into healthy living then have I got a treat for you. I’ve found a number of healthier/vegan alternatives to the standard advent calendar so you now have no reason not to join in with the festivities.
When I first heard about this I was beyond excited. So excited that I ended up pre-ordering one at the beginning of September! We all know I’m a sucker for raw snack bars and the Primal Pantry are one of my favourite snack brands so this advent calendar is right up my street. 24 of the standard sized bars in one huge calendar. It includes a variety of all 7 flavours including their two new protein bars which I’ve yet to try myself. It may seem a little excessive especially when you look at the price, but if you’re into your healthy snacks like me and can afford it I reckon it’s going to be worth it.
