With only a few more days to go until the big day, no doubt you’ll have already dived into the mince pies and boxes of Quality Street. As much as I am all about eating whatever you want – especially at Christmastime – I’m also all about balance and even though that balance may go a bit skew-whiff during December, I do try my best to keep some healthy snacks on hand. Here are just a few healthy festive treats that you should try over the next week or so to let your body know that you’re not COMPLETELY neglecting proper nutrition (unfortunately the fruit in a mince pie does not count as one of your 5-a-day).


Healthy brands that put a Christmas twist on their products please me immensley. This Christmas Pud nakd. bar is one of my favourite flavours. Popcorn may be available all year round but if you keep an eye out you may just spot some festive flavours such as this mince pie popcorn by Joe & Seph’s. I was lucky enough to recieve it in a snack box that I won and I can confirm that it’s pretty good. Perfect to munch on while watching your favourite Christmas films instead of diving into the Doritos.




Something that always comes out around this time of year are a whole range of different fruit & nut mixes. Not only do they make the perfect gift for someone a little more health conscious, but they’re also perfect to snack on if you feel as if you’ve overdone it on the Quality Street side. Go into any supermarket and you’re bound to find a mix that takes your fancy.




Forget about shop bought cakes, why not try and make your own healthier alternative? There are a whole variety of recipes online for healthy mince pies such as this one by Deliciously Ella. Perfectly indulgent but good for you too. I also recently found a recipe from Naturally Sassy for raw gingerbread men!




Christmas would not be Christmas (and a snack list would not be a snack list) without a good bit of raw chocolate. I’ve preached to the high heavens about how great raw chocolate is and about my favourite brands including Raw Halo and Pana Chocolate. Raw Halo have even put together a gift set of their very own festive inspired bars!



Just as it’s important to stay balanced and lead a healthy lifestyle, it’s also important that we truly enjoy ourselves, live life and have a great Christmas. Remember that at this time of year it is completely normal to indulge a little more than we usually do – and I don’t mean “healthy indulgence.” So, crack open that bottle of alcohol, devour those mince pies and steal all of your favourite Quality Street chocolates before anyone else can!
