Apologies for this months Sourced Box post being a bit delayed this week. The end of uni means final assignments and exam study. Feeling stressed is an understatement. Do not fret though, it just wouldn’t feel right to skip out a month.
It might sound ridiculous but I think I have a fear of hunger. Go back three years ago and it was a fear of food itself. I like to think of this as the perfect example as to how eating problems can linger for years and how once you overcome one obstacle, another arises. Well, to this obstacle i’m saying enough is enough. I want to be able to eat when I’m hungry and stop when I’m satisfied and comfortably full. I want to not have to bring a stash of snacks with me wherever I go and not plan the days events around my meals. I’m hoping this post will not only potentially help others recognise their own fear of feeling hungry, but will also encourage me to get my butt in gear and give this intuitive eating malarkey a go for real.
Firstly I want to apologise for the lack of posts this past month. I’ve been so caught up with uni that any free time I’ve had to focus on my blog and YouTube I’ve been putting it solely on YouTube. Now that my classes have finished though and all that’s left is to study for my one exam, I’m going to make sure that my blog is back on its A-game.
So, I thought that my first post in this comeback should be a little what I eat in a day post. But this isn’t just your average food diary. I’ve just returned from a trip down south visiting my Grandad with my sister where we also spent a day in London. I thought it would be interesting to share with you guys what I ate while I was there.
I very rarely go to book signings. The idea of having to queue up just to briefly chat for a few seconds with the author before being rushed away has never really appealed to me. However, when I saw that Ella Mills (formally Woodward) was doing not only a signing in Glasgow in support of her new recipe book ‘Deliciously Ella with Friends‘ but also a Q&A session I jumped at the chance to go. As you probably all know, I am a huge believer in living a healthy, balanced lifestyle and my main concern in this is always food. Ella is one of the people that continues to inspire me to eat well while also encouraging me to actually get into the kitchen and cook (something I’m not very confident with).
Firstly I want to apologise for my disappearance over the past two weeks. The end of last month and the whole of this month is pretty hectic. Turns out I’m not overly good with balancing uni work, a social life and my other interests and it’s unfortunately the latter that suffers most. However, I’ve made time this evening to write up my monthly Sourced Box post.
What with February being the month of Valentines Day, this months box heavily reflects that. From heart shaped snacks to indulgent chocolate, who needs true love when you have snacks?
Today is my sister’s birthday and as is the annual tradition we went out for dinner in celebration. Usually we go to the same places but last night we went to Filling Station which is an American restaurant and bar that has recently opened fairly nearby. As we had never been before and as it isn’t an overly common restaurant chain, I thought I would write up a little review of the place.
