SOURCED BOX | OCTOBER ’16

Sourced Box has officially entered double figures! Well, in months anyway. With a number of snack bars to keep me powering on through my endless amounts of uni work and the return of a few of my favourite brands, October’s box is by far one of the best to date.

WHAT I ATE WEDNESDAY | 28/9/16

I feel as if my blog posts have been all over the place recently and for that I apologise. Having now started uni, I’ve been in the process of trying to find that balance between my studies, social life & my YouTube/blogging. It’s harder than I thought but I promise I will not let the latter falter!

Anyway, I thought I’d write up a classic ‘What I Ate Wednesday’ to keep my blog ticking over for another few days.

BREAKFAST

WEETABIX WITH BANANA & AGAVE NECTAR

This is the perfect representation of what my breakfasts usually look like. Fruit just thrown on top! One of my go-to breakfasts but with a bit of a twist. I usually have soy milk but my Mum bought me coconut milk by accident. I’m not overly fussed with it in my coffee but with my Weetabix (and also my porridge) I really liked it. The coconut gives it that bit more extra flavour.

A YEAR ON

This morning I opened up the Timehop app prepared to read whatever embarrassing things I was saying 5 years ago but instead was greeted with a pleasant surprise. This time last year I reached the healthy weight range for the first time in about two years. Yes, I still wasn’t 100% healthy but it was still an important part of my recovery process.

CHANGING YOUR DIET FOR THE BETTER

This is a bit of a spontaneous post but I feel as if these are always the best kind as it’s what is on my mind right at this moment in time. I recently watched Melanie Murphy’s latest ‘Food Diary Friday’ and it really got me thinking. Her Dad recently had a heart attack and in the video she talks about the changes both she and her Dad are making to their diets and also touches on the idea of becoming a ‘reducetarian‘ – someone who reduces their meat intake.

WHAT I ATE WEDNESDAY | 31/8/16

Yesterday I went into Glasgow with my boyfriend to collect my student card so I thought it would be a bit more interesting to document what I ate on a day where I was out and about. I was reunited with my beloved Boots meal deal and had my third (yes, THIRD) pumpkin spice latte of the season.

So, without further ado, let’s get right on into it.

WHAT I ATE WEDNESDAY | 24/8/16

I recently started a new part time job at Sainsbury’s and with this means that I need to bring some food with me. I work 6pm-10pm which is a bit of an awkward time as I usually have my dinner around 6ish. Due to this change in my ‘eating schedule,’ I thought I would show you what my food looks like on a typical working day.

WHAT I ATE WEDNESDAY | 10/8/26

Today marked the day that I finally bought myself a new phone after needing a new one for about a year. It also marked the day that I was finally able to play Pokemon Go without it crashing. Better late than never! In order to fuel my new found Pokemon hunting it was important to keep my energy levels up so as always, a day filled with delicious food was necessary.

RECOVERY TALK

This week I uploaded a video talking about eating disorder recovery and opened up about my thoughts and experience. So, today’s blog post will tie in with that as I know that not everyone watches my videos and I want to try and help as many people as possible.

The main point that I want to raise is that recovery from an eating disorder, or just recovery from anything, isn’t a straight road. There are going to be multiple bumps and obstacles to swerve along the way. I’m going to share a bit of advice that I have learned through my own experience.
