January. The month after the media implies that it’s perfectly okay to stuff our faces with anything and everything and  bombards us with dieting and weight loss. It’s ridiculous and quite frankly I’m fed up with it. So what if we end up putting on a few extra pounds over Christmas? Why is there this ‘requirement’ to then shred those extra few pounds in such excessive manners? Well, guess what. YOU DON’T!

I’m always looking for inspiration when it comes to healthy living and this year a lot of that inspiration has came from Madeleine Shaw. Madeleine is a blogger, YouTuber and entrepreneur whose food philosophy is “all about enlivening the hottest, happiest and healthiest you. It’s about keeping things simple and delicious so you don’t feel bored or deprived.” Having experienced a period of time filled with deprivation and binging, she has since found a love of “positive nourishment.”

A few weeks ago in my Journalism & Creative Writing class we were told that we had to write poetry. Now, I hadn’t written a poem since I was in primary school so this was a frightening prospect, especially since it’s a workshop class so I would be reading it out to a few of my classmates in order for them to give feedback. Surprisingly I enjoyed the poetry classes more than I thought I would.

I’m always on the lookout for new bloggers/vloggers who share the same passion for food and a balanced lifestyle as I do.
