January. The month after the media implies that it’s perfectly okay to stuff our faces with anything and everything and  bombards us with dieting and weight loss. It’s ridiculous and quite frankly I’m fed up with it. So what if we end up putting on a few extra pounds over Christmas? Why is there this ‘requirement’ to then shred those extra few pounds in such excessive manners? Well, guess what. YOU DON’T!

It’s no secret that I love food, so it may come as a bit of a surprise to you when I say that before last weekend I had never been to a food festival before. When I first heard of Vegfest a few months ago I was eager to go and so dragged my boyfriend along with me on the Saturday of the weekend event.

Vegfest is a vegan festival where you can discover delicious vegan food, take full advantage of the free samples and get your hands on vegan friendly clothing. I’ve made it clear a number of times that I am not actually vegan, but most of my diet is actually vegan/vegetarian. I thought I would share with you the tasty treats that I bought because I definitely spent way too much money.

I’m always looking for inspiration when it comes to healthy living and this year a lot of that inspiration has came from Madeleine Shaw. Madeleine is a blogger, YouTuber and entrepreneur whose food philosophy is “all about enlivening the hottest, happiest and healthiest you. It’s about keeping things simple and delicious so you don’t feel bored or deprived.” Having experienced a period of time filled with deprivation and binging, she has since found a love of “positive nourishment.”
