With only a few more days to go until the big day, no doubt you’ll have already dived into the mince pies and boxes of Quality Street. As much as I am all about eating whatever you want – especially at Christmastime – I’m also all about balance and even though that balance may go a bit skew-whiff during December, I do try my best to keep some healthy snacks on hand. Here are just a few healthy festive treats that you should try over the next week or so to let your body know that you’re not COMPLETELY neglecting proper nutrition (unfortunately the fruit in a mince pie does not count as one of your 5-a-day).

Healthy brands that put a Christmas twist on their products please me immensley. This Christmas Pud nakd. bar is one of my favourite flavours. Made with nothing but dates, cashews, raisins & a hint of natural flavouring, this raw bar has a true Christmassy taste while also counting as one of your 5-a-day. pudding-de-noel-z

I say it time and time again, but I consider myself the snacking queen. I cannot go a day without having a few snacks inbetween meals. One of my go-to snacks are snack bars. Not only are they delicious but they’re also super convenient as you can just throw them in your bag and are easy to eat on the go. Over the past year I’ve discovered so many amazing brands and I’ve decided that it’s time to share them with you.

It’s time to banish those hunger pains.

As promised last time, I decided to mix today’s ‘WIAW’ up a bit and share what I ate on a day where I went out for a meal. As it was my sister’s 10th birthday, we went to Frankie & Benny’s to celebrate. F&B’s has been one of my family’s go-to restaurants for years but this trip was a bit of a turning point. If you want to know why then keep reading.

I’ve been a huge fan of nakd. for about two years now and there is nothing that excites me more than the announcement of new flavours. This summer, nakd. announced three brand new flavours – apricot crunch, peanut delight & carrot cake – and being the food lover that I am, I had to get my hands on them ASAP. My Dad ordered a mixed case of the new fruit & nut bars and gave me one of each so it only felt right for me to review them.

It is officially the summer holidays and mine are already off to a fabulous start. I’ve already hung out with friends on various occasions, got a bit too drunk at a party, completed my induction for my new job that I start next month and today I went to see The Conjuring 2. I may not be a huge film watcher, but horrors are an exception. Of course no cinema trip is complete without snacks and I had my snacking A-game on today.

Over the past couple of weeks I seem to have spent more money on food than is deemed necessary and in all honestly, I have no regrets. I recently uploaded a separate healthy snack haul on my YouTube channel and had no intention of buying any more. Clearly that intent went out the window. Instead of uploading another haul video, I thought I’d share what I bought on here. This is a foodie blog after all.

One of my favourite blog posts to read and YouTube videos to watch are those ‘What I Eat In a Day’ ones. So, I thought I would join onto the bandwagon. Every Wednesday I’ll be sharing with you everything that I have eaten on that day – or a day prior to it – showing you that healthy eating doesn’t have to be boring.

Breakfast is my favourite meal of the day. It’s probably the only reason I’m a morning person. It’s the spring break so I got up at the slightly later time of 8am – that’s late for me – and went for one of my favourite brekkie combos: weetabix with banana & honey. I’ll admit I’m a bit late to the honey game as I only tried it for the first time a couple of months ago but now I can’t imagine the food cupboards without it. I use Rowse honey. What’s great about this brand is that they’re the primary sponsor of the Sussex Plan for Honey Bee Health & Well-Being. This honey not only tastes great but you’re also helping out to save the bees. A coffee is also always a must have in the morning.
